Meet Mediaory-Bot

Mediaory-Bot is the crawler behind Mediaory, a media-monitoring service for businesses. This page explains what it does and how to ask it to stop.

Last updated: 1 October 2026

  1. How it identifies itself

Every request carries this User-Agent: Mediaory-Bot/1.0 (+https://mediaory.io/bot). We do not disguise the crawler as a browser. Our requests come from cloud hosting and do not use a fixed IP address, so the User-Agent is the reliable way to recognise us.

  2. What it fetches

Public RSS/Atom feeds and sitemaps, and — only where your robots.txt allows it — public pages. It never signs in, never bypasses a paywall and never fetches private areas.

  3. What we keep

A headline, the link, the publication time and an excerpt of at most 200 characters. We do not store full article text or images. Every result shown to a customer links back to your original page.

  4. How often

Each RSS feed is read at most every 10 minutes; sitemaps and pages at most every 30 minutes.

  5. Opting out

    Any of these works:

    1) Send a takedown request with the form linked below — we block your domain, stop crawling it and, if you ask, delete what we stored.

    2) Add a rule that names our crawler to your robots.txt: User-agent: Mediaory-Bot / Disallow: /. We honour rules that name Mediaory-Bot for feeds, and all applicable rules for pages and sitemaps.

We aim to answer requests within two business days.
